Lucrecia Zappi’s *Higher Bodies* at Central Fine is her first solo show: gestural paintings of flesh, stage, and displacement. Born in Buenos Aires, raised in São Paulo, and based in New York, she coats surfaces in metallic silver like armor and filters light through Brazilian Moorish vernacular. A Hansel-and-Gretel diptych and abraded “sulfate” layers braid myth, migration, and her novelist’s inscriptions into bodies that stay in flux.
