Lucas Samaras's Boxes and Reconstructions pairs enigmatic box sculptures from the 1960s to the 1980s with never-before-seen sewn fabric paintings from his 1979 Reconstructions series, drawn from the artist's collection. Built from photographs, cutlery, nails, mirrors, yarn and feathers, the boxes transform banal materials into surreal, self-contained environments of selfhood.
