Installation view, Adam Higgins: Lollipop, Chris Sharp, Los Angeles, 2026
Adam Higgins’s *Lollipop* presents new paintings of translucent-handled screwdrivers laid over photographs. Higgins arranges the tools on prints of scenes from his daily life, then photographs the pairings to paint from. From afar the canvases read as photography, objects on pictures; closer, gesture, color, and structure take over, and up close they break into abstraction as the screwdriver grows strange.
