Li Hei Di's the year of mud presents new paintings by the London-based artist, their first solo show with Pace in New York. Between figuration and abstraction, shifting figures surface and dissolve in a shimmering palette. Inspired by the goddess Nüwa shaping people from mud, the works document a year of personal transition, holding beauty and suffering, tenderness and force together.
