La sombra del tiempo is the New York debut of Peruvian painter Jimena Velarde-Alvarez. Built through slow accumulation and return, her oil paintings dissolve the maker into the construction. Doorways open at their real and lived ratios. Shadows linger at thresholds between subject and architecture, self and environment. New shadow box sculptures invite the viewer to peer through a keyhole into an illuminated, silhouetted scene—solitary, quiet, and fully present.
