*Jill Mulleady: The Passenger*, her first solo show at a major museum, brings together about 20 paintings. Staining canvas and using copper, glass and velvet, Mulleady makes thin, luminous surfaces that can be seen through. Her enigmatic scenes show figures at risk from appetite, predation or compulsion, recasting allegory, the Baroque and Symbolist unease without tidy endings.
