This exhibition examines abstract art by self taught artists who work outside established art historical frameworks. Without reference to canonical models, abstraction emerges as an independent visual language. Using found materials or unconventional supports, and at times repetitive gestures on paper or canvas, the artists develop personal symbolic forms that reflect invention, intuition, and individual systems of meaning.
