Xiaoze Xie In the Name of the Book

Sapar Contemporary presents Xiaoze Xie’s first solo exhibition with the gallery, In the Name of the Book. Drawing from his long-running Library series and the research-based Forbidden Books project, the exhibition includes paintings and life-size porcelain sculptures of banned volumes. Xie’s work reflects on censorship, the fragility of knowledge, and the cultural loss caused by the disappearance or suppression of books across history.
