Rafael Megall’s "Idols In Bloom" presents paintings built from Soviet-era porcelain figurines, floral forms, and Armenian ornament. Megall fragments and recombines these familiar domestic objects into figures that can’t be restored to a single original, while ornament and flowers weave through larger layered canvases and smaller panels. The work explores memory, inherited imagery, and cultural identity as things that persist by changing.
