Socrates Sculpture Park reconstructs John Morse's Flying Flag Flying (1995) for its 40th-anniversary Homecoming series. An American flag printed on both sides flies at the entrance so painted folds blur with real ones—image collapsing into object. Recovered through Mellon-supported archival work after Morse's death in 2025, the piece returns a once-stolen work to public debate.
