Great Expectations is Victor Van’s first solo exhibition, presenting paintings drawn from imagery and language gathered across the internet, radio, and American popular culture. Using screenshots as source material, Van translates fragments of the digital world into acrylic paintings with saturated color and loose brushwork. Through this process of observation and reinterpretation, the works form a vivid, personal portrait of contemporary America shaped by spectacle, contradiction, and longing.
