Yeni and Nan: Genesis presents the collaborative practice of Venezuelan artists Jennifer Hackshaw (Yeni) and María Luisa González (Nan), whose partnership from 1977 was foundational to action-based and body-centered art in Venezuela. Working against a cultural landscape dominated by geometric abstraction and kinetic art, they turned instead to happenings, performance, installation, and time-based media — positioning the body as both site of investigation and medium of expression. The exhibition centers on Transfiguration Element Earth (1980–83), tracing it through earlier works exploring emergence, birth, and elemental integration. Sequenced photographs, Polaroids, projected footage, and video present performance folding back onto its own mediation.
