The National Archives' Freedom Plane National Tour brings original Founding-era documents to HistoryMiami Museum as one of eight museums nationwide hosting this traveling exhibition marking America's 250th anniversary. The exhibition features historic documents including the William Stone engraving of the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Association, oaths signed by George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, and Aaron Burr, the Treaty of Paris, and a draft printing of the Constitution. Accompanying the exhibition is a digital mural inviting community members to share their wishes for America, and a special July 4th birthday celebration on the HistoryMiami plaza. The museum also launches America 250: Voices of the Future, a countywide high school oratorical contest inviting students to reflect on America's founding ideals and their relevance to building a more just and inclusive future.
