Frauke Schlitz and Leonie Weber: Collage/Construction brings together two German artists around collage as a form of world-building amid fracture and fragmentation. Schlitz builds abstract paper collages referencing urban structures and architectural space — her pastel palette evoking Renaissance fresco, her recent works incorporating New York Times newsprint as both material and temporal marker. Weber centers the female body as subject and tool: photo collages document domestic labor through the artist's own arms reaching across images, while stomped and crushed Amazon boxes become architectural sculptures caught between accumulation and collapse. For both artists, the built environment reflects inner states under pressure.
