"Material Relations" pairs Frances Trombly’s woven sculptures with sculptural furniture by Berlin- and Miami-based studio Hettler.Tüllmann. Trombly exposes warp threads, maple frames and shuttles to question painting’s old rank above weaving, while the studio’s minimal tables carry surfaces made from quartz, lemon zest, eggshells and nutshells. Both consider how materials carry histories as well as physical properties.
