Siyan Wong paints immigrant Chinese women laboring in factories, restaurants, caregiving, and street vending, depicting endurance within harsh economic conditions. Her self-taught style uses decorative patterning and compressed space to portray everyday struggle with clarity and dignity. The exhibition also includes a group presentation titled Familiar Stranger, inspired by Wong’s painting of a woman collecting cans, with works by Luisa Henao, Ying Hung, Sharon Cheuk Wun Lee, Elim Mak, and Mary Ting.
