Vera Palme: Everything but perspective

Vera Palme's Everything but perspective brings together small abstract paintings and a new series of looping brushstroke monochromes. Working mostly in oil on unbleached linen, she builds surfaces from layered strokes, scrapes and dense paint. Quoting her own past compositions and art-historical tropes, Palme treats painting with steady skepticism, questioning its conventions while still making paintings.

Vera Palme

Vera Palme (b. 1983) studied at Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee and the Hochschule für Bildende Künste–Städelschule, Frankfurt, graduating in 2017. She lives and works in Frankfurt. Recent solo and two-person exhibitions include Schleuse, Vienna (2026); Galerie Buchholz, New York (2025) and Berlin (2024); Etablissement d’en face, Brussels (2025); Kunsthalle Winterthur (2025); Bizarro, Copenhagen (2023); and New Toni, Berlin (2022). In 2020 she received the Karl Schmidt-Rottluff Stipendium, and in 2023 she self-published Nuts, a collection of short writings.
