Mirdidingkingathi Juwarnda Sally Gabori transformed memories of her homeland on Bentinck Island into vibrant abstract paintings. Beginning her practice in her eighties after her community’s displacement, she reimagined landscapes through expressive color and gesture, creating deeply personal works that intertwine memory, place, Indigenous knowledge, and lived experience.
