Calida Rawles’ first London solo exhibition, This Time Before Tomorrow, expands her hyperrealist practice into surreal territory, using water as metaphor for upheaval, transformation, and resilience. Figures dissolve into liquid, color, and chiaroscuro, evoking cycles of suspension, release, and rebirth. Drawing on myth, philosophy, and Black feminist thought, Rawles explores time, identity, and change, inviting viewers to embrace instability as a site of renewal and possibility.
