White Cube presents a solo exhibition by Cai Guo-Qiang, his first London project in over 20 years. Known for his explosion events and large-scale installations, Cai brings a selection of gunpowder paintings from the past decade. Igniting black and colored powders onto paper, canvas, glass, and mirror, he explores painterly concerns, drawing on flora, fauna, and the Western canon while pushing the limits of abstraction and material experimentation.
