Embodied Lexicon features a sculptural assembly of twelve chairs and related works on paper, each inscribed with a single, evocative word or phrase. Visitors are invited to sit with the challenge each chair poses. By tethering language to a form so quintessential to human spatial understanding as the chair, Wilson’s work demands that all viewers become participants in defining their embodied relation to these affects, urges, and concepts.
