For her first exhibition at kurimanzutto New York, Mariana Castillo Deball presents Serpent Disappearances, tracing the making of her public work Feathered Changes (2025) for LACMA. Through textiles, ceramics, concrete slabs, and tools, the installation documents collaborations with architects and construction workers. Frottage imprints of the plaza floor, indigo scarves honoring laborers, and stamped belts reference Mesoamerican imagery, turning the gallery into a record of process, labor, and site history.
