This exhibition celebrates arts patron, educator, and activist Peggy Cooper Cafritz through works from her historic gift to the Studio Museum in Harlem. Featuring artists including Simone Leigh, Kerry James Marshall, Wangechi Mutu, and Tschabalala Self, it traces Cafritz’s commitment to championing artists of African descent and her belief in collecting as an act of beauty, equity, and permanence.
