*Dreams in Action* presents small-scale acrylic paintings by Jane Zweibel that investigate dream logic through the intersection of figuration, abstraction, memory, and mythology. Developed from collage-based compositions begun during artist residencies in 2024, the works combine loose grids of color and form with free-associative imagery drawn from personal and collective experience, psychology, art history, and cultural narratives. Rather than depicting personal dreams, Zweibel constructs fictional dream worlds in which temporal, spatial, and ontological boundaries become unstable. Through distortion, vibrant color, and uncanny juxtapositions, the paintings function as nonlinear narratives where fact and fiction, reality and fantasy, coexist.
