Ry Rocklen’s "Desert Lenses" turns familiar objects into frames for the high desert around his Joshua Tree home. Ceramic rocking chairs, drying racks, shopping carts, and abandoned cars carry glaze-decal photographs of the landscape they come from. Socks worn by his family, cast in aluminum and paper, become portraits without faces. Together the works explore place, family, memory, and everyday life.
