Installation view, Danny Fox: Fata Morgana, Alexander Berggruen, New York, 2026
Danny Fox’s *Fata Morgana* brings together new paintings of horses, boats and interiors, painted thickly with wide, visible brushstrokes. Inspired by ships passing the Cornish coast and a mirage he saw above the horizon, the works play with optical distortion, ambiguous imagery and uncertain depth. Figures often return the viewer’s gaze, hinting at unseen psychological forces and journeys never quite finished.
