Daniel Gibson’s *Manzanita* presents eleven oil pastel paintings exploring landscape as a space of memory, imagination, and transformation. Inspired by land he owns near the Mexican border, Kumeyaay history, and his recent transition into fatherhood, Gibson combines automatic drawing with recurring images of rocks, flowers, birds, and artist palettes to connect personal experience, deep history, and imagined futures.
