Crumbling Land, a research project by architectural designer Noah Gotlib, opens at Citygroup in summer 2026. The exhibition examines 'managed retreat'—the intentional abandonment of land and infrastructure due to climate change—across North America, where governments are unpaving roads, buying out flood-prone homes, and leaving condemned infrastructure unrepaired. Photographs and research document landscapes transformed by climate migration and the undoing of ownership.
