OCHI presents Come When Mi Call Yu, an exhibition of new paintings by Los Angeles-based artist Lenworth McIntosh, on view September 12 through October 10, 2026, at 605 N. Western Avenue, with a public reception Saturday, September 12, 6–8pm. McIntosh's first solo show with the gallery follows his 2025 solo presentation at Frieze Los Angeles.
The paintings imagine a Black commune in a verdant rural valley awaiting an approaching storm. Drawing on his Jamaican heritage and the visual language of animation, McIntosh fuses spiritual and living planes into a single ecosystem: ghostlike presences guide people at work, a man tends pots of soup, church women gather in radiant chorus. Invoking the Caribbean Nine Nights wake tradition, he renders spirits and the living dissolving together into the clouds in unrestrained dance.
