Jim Drain: Chess Tables at The Bass places two chess tables and four chairs in Collins Park as a social gathering point for players and passersby. Made for The Bass Projects, the functional sculptures extend Drain’s interest in textiles, craft, and public encounter from Fort Thunder into civic furniture. Themes of play, outdoor gathering, and sculpture as shared amenity structure the ongoing installation.
