Cafeteria is Judy Chung’s first solo exhibition with the gallery, presenting a new body of paintings that use the school cafeteria as a social framework. The works consider identity formation through public rituals, hierarchies, and judgment. Archetypal figures and recurring personas navigate tension between attraction and discomfort, sincerity and artifice, with food operating as a charged symbol of belonging and exposure.
