*Burnt Mind* brings Grand Rapids painter Nicholas Szymanski back to 65GRAND. Szymanski builds quiet, reductive paintings in oil on canvas or linen stretched over panel, sometimes mixed with sand, mica, marble dust or glass. Using one to four colors, taped edges and sanded, reworked layers, he lets slips and edits show, making small meditations on color, surface, light and the passing of time.
