Brian Rutenberg

Brian Rutenberg presents abstract landscape paintings in oil on linen and paper, drawn from his memories of the coastal South Carolina landscape where he grew up in Myrtle Beach. Series such as Weather’s Wind, Spartina, Clambank, and Lady Banks Rose build dense, fractal lines and saturated color into layered fields that evoke marsh, flora, and weather. The works explore memory, place, color, and instinctive mark-making.
