Berenice is a solo exhibition by South African artist Gabrielle Goliath at Goodman Gallery, New York. Featuring 22 photographic works from her ongoing commemorative series, the project memorializes Goliath’s late childhood friend through portraits of women and LGBTIQ+ individuals of color who stand in for her each passing year. The series reflects a black feminist politics of care and collective remembrance.
