Peter McRury’s "At a Familiar Distance", his first solo show in Los Angeles, gathers seven paintings: fruit on a table, swans in a pond, a lamb in a dusky landscape and closely cropped portraits. Built from thin layers of airbrushed acrylic on linen and sourced from images he collects online, the pictures read clearly from afar but dissolve up close, testing how memory and projection shape what we recognize.
