Antechamber is a solo exhibition of new paintings by Becky Kolsrud that employs recurring allegorical imagery to examine cycles of life and death, spirituality, and identity. Drawing on surrealist precedents, the works combine symbols such as eggs, skulls, and mirrored figures to explore dualities of the sacred and profane. Through layered iconography, the paintings consider how identity is fragmented and reconstituted through embodied experience.
