A solo exhibition at Official Welcome in Los Angeles devoted to Ann Thornycroft, a British-born, LA-based abstract painter. Trained at London's Central and Chelsea art schools, Thornycroft developed her distinctive grid-based abstraction in 1970s New York and expanded it in California, where luminous color animates her patterned arcs and lattices. Recent acrylic and oil canvases such as Upstream anchor the show; her work is held by the Portland Art Museum and Long Beach Museum of Art.
