Abraham Cruzvillegas’s "Autocontusión" is an installation of 80 painted wooden pieces from The Bass collection, an expansion of his ongoing Autoconstrucción project rooted in the self-built homes of his Mexico City childhood neighborhood. Bright, improvised forms hang and stand through the gallery, reflecting on cities as permanent sites of construction and destruction, and on how displacement keeps reshaping identity.
