3 Lieder für Marie Nejar is James Gregory Atkinson’s installation-based project dedicated to the life of Marie Nejar, the last known Black survivor of Nazi Germany. Through film, sound, archival objects, and re-recorded songs, the exhibition traces Afro-German and African American histories shaped by war, migration, and popular culture, using music and memory to link personal biography with transatlantic histories.
