Perfume Genius (Mike Hadreas) and choreographer Kate Wallich premiere *The Lesson*, an evening-length music and dance work inspired by Elfriede Jelinek’s novel *The Piano Teacher*. Performed with Alan Wyffels and Tate Justus to new music by Perfume Genius, it moves through repression, longing, authority and submission in unstable scenes where roles shift and the unsaid becomes physical. It follows the pair’s 2019 collaboration *The Sun Still Burns Here*.
