Robert Doisneau was a photographer who wandered the streets of Paris for more than five decades, finding humor, tenderness, and poetry in ordinary life. Known for images such as Le Baiser de l’Opéra (1950), he photographed lovers, children, workers, musicians, and artists, and his openness to chance made him one of the twentieth century’s most beloved photographers.
