Narsiso Martinez (b. 1977, Oaxaca, Mexico; lives and works in Los Angeles) is known for portraits of farmworkers painted on discarded produce boxes and grocery packaging. He worked nine seasons in Washington state’s agricultural fields before earning BFA and MFA degrees from Cal State Long Beach. Collections include LACMA, the Hammer, MFA Houston, Buffalo AKG, and the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. Frieze Impact Award, 2023. Represented by Charlie James Gallery.
