Rust Never Sleeps
Harmony Hammond (b. 1944) is an American artist, writer, and curator whose pioneering practice has shaped feminist and queer art for more than five decades. Best known for her richly textured abstract paintings and sculptural works made from fabric, burlap, and rope, Hammond explores materiality, identity, and the politics of representation. Her work has been exhibited internationally and is held in major collections including the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the National Gallery of Art, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
