Deladier Almeida (b. Brazil) creates landscape paintings that move fluidly between representation and abstraction, inspired by the agricultural landscapes of California. A graduate of the University of California, Davis, where he studied with Roland Petersen, Almeida combines careful observation with an intuitive painting process, allowing unexpected forms and relationships to emerge. His work has been exhibited at institutions including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the John Natsoulas Center for the Arts, and the Bennington Center for the Arts.
