Buddha and Shiva, Lotus and Dragon marks Asia Society’s 70th anniversary with seventy works from its permanent collection, assembled by John D. Rockefeller 3rd and Blanchette Hooker Rockefeller. Spanning over two millennia, the exhibition features Buddhist and Hindu sculpture alongside Chinese, Korean, and Japanese ceramics. It reflects the Rockefellers’ belief in art as a means of fostering cross-cultural understanding and highlights faith and exchange as driving forces in Asian art history.
