Jenny Lynn McNutt has shown sculpture, painting, and multimedia performances nationally and in China, Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Milan, Dublin, Eastern Europe, North and West Africa. Her porcelain sculptures were included in the American Academy of Arts & Letters, Invitational Exhibition of Visual Arts, NY. Oracle, Li Qingzhao, created in China, was awarded an Art Purchase Prize in 2020.
In the summer of 2025, she was a visiting artist at Taoxichuan International Artists Studio, Jingdezhen, China, where she was a guest artist in 2018 and 2019. McNutt is included in the permanent collections of the Taoxichuan International Artists Studio in Jingdezhen, China and the Shaanxi Tongchuan International Art Center (Yao Porcelain Town Creative Park).
Among awards and grants are The Mercedes Matter/Ambassador Middendorf, New York Studio School (2018), The European Ceramic Center, The Netherlands and M4gastatelier Residency, Netherlands, Foundation Valparaiso, Spain, the William Hillman Foundation Grant, New York Foundation for the Arts Fiscal Sponsorship, the Rothman Grant and the Fine Arts Work Center, Massachusetts.
She received her MFA from Yale School of Art and received the Helen Winternitz award. McNutt was awarded a senior Fulbright Fellowship to West and Central Africa in 1992 and an Eastman Foundation grant for her documentary film of West African Dance and Music.
Her teaching includes Pratt Institute, Parsons School of Art, Art Institute of Chicago, and Yale University among others. Currently she is co-head of the Painting Atelier at The New York Studio School.
